The European Commission has designated 2007 as ‘European Year of Equal Opportunities for All’.
Activities during the year will focus on equality and non-discrimination for all, including women. Gender mainstreaming will be one of the main goals of 2007 to create awareness regarding gender equality .
The majority of activities will be carried out at the national level by national coordinating bodies that will prepare action plans and the list of activities they want to fund. A number of countries have already nominated their national coordinating body: Austria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Slovakia and Sweden. |
