The Flexibility Of Medifast Diet Plans

November 12th, 2011

When it comes to the diet plans from Medifast, there is one word that always strike me: flexibility. It doesn’t really matter what kind of dietary needs you might have (within reason), chances are Medifast can help you out. In the day and age where we have extremely rigid diet plans like Atkins, it’s nice to know that not every plan has to be so “by the numbers”.

Are you a vegetarian, because that’s not a problem. It would be a problem if you were on the Atkins diet, because the diet plan consists of mostly low carb, high protein meals. These kind of meals synonymous with meat. But with Medifast, they give you a lot of diverse choices in plant based foods. You can relax from both a dietary and ethical choice.

Are you a diabetic? Well, that can be tough, especially with many diet plans. Medifast is not like that. They can cater a specific diet plan that will be diabetic friendly. All you have to do is contact them and speak with one of their dieticians. They can set up a plan within in a hour. All you have to do is follow it.

Another perk that medifast has that it allows one day of freedom to eat whatever you’d like. As long as you are eating the diet, the way it was intended, the other 6 days, you can have one day to eat what you’d like. Don’t go nuts with this freedom though. Don’t eat an entire 12 pack of donuts, just because you can. Be sensible. But it’s great that Medifast allows people this opportunity. However, the food from Medifast is so tasty, you don’t feel like you are actually “getting away with anything”.

Another bit of good news from Medifast is that there are no age restrictions. I don’t care whether you are 5 or 500, you can order from them. They made these diet plans to cater to literally anybody.

Also, the price is relatively inexpensive. When I say that, I don’t mean that its free. But if you compare their diet plans to what other companies are charging, you can see for yourself that the price is very affordable. Also, think about the fact that you are getting all of your meals for a month. Think about how much that would normally cost you. You could probably spend half of that in just one meal at a fancy restaurant.

How to Use Natural Herbs to Dissipate a Yeast Infection

September 26th, 2011

Yeast infections are a fact of life for many women and an effective treatment must be used to prevent ongoing complications. Many women prefer to use home remedies for yeast infections, particularly when penicillin is often resistant to bacteria these days. Prescription and over the counter solutions are often expensive as well, so home remedies can be an attractive option. Of course not all women will choose this option, nor is it suitable for all women. However, for those women who would like to try the home remedy treatments, the following remedies have proven to be the best.

Yogurt

The most effective home remedy is yogurt and it is also the most popular. It should be natural, sugar free, unflavoured and contain lactobacillus acidophilus. This will ensure the bacteria are not able to survive. The yogurt accomplishes this by neutralising the vaginal environment and prevents the yeast from flourishing. Internal and external application is recommended. External application requires a liberal application to the vulval area a couple of times per day. Internal application is best done with a (needle free) syringe for best results. Again, twice per day. This treatment should be carried out for around one week and at least for one day after symptoms have disappeared.

Garlic

The second most effective method at home remedy for yeast infections is garlic. Garlic has long been lauded as an effective natural for many things and this is most certainly true for yeast infections. Understandably, some women will not want to try this method, but those who are willing to try can be assured of excellent results. Garlic is a naturally occurring antibacterial substance, so it is a logical choice with which to treat yeast infections. Use a fresh peeled clove and insert internally morning and night for a week. You can also try wrapping the peeled clove in a little piece of cotton gauze if it makes you feel more comfortable about using this method.

Tea Tree Oil

Two or three drops of pure Tea Tree Oil inside the affected area is the third most effective method of treatment. Simply coat the top half of a tampon in KY Jelly, add a few drops to the tip of the tampon and then insert. The reason for the KY Jelly is to prevent the oil from soaking into the tampon. It is essential to ensure the oil reaches it’s destination – it’s not the tampon that has the yeast infection. If the oil is not able to work it’s magic in the correct location, this treatment will not be effective. Again, use the remedy twice each day for a week for best results.

To achieve the greatest level of effectiveness, your treatment of choice should be repeated twice per day for around a week. Trial and error will establish which is the most effective of the home remedies for yeast infections for individual women. It should always be remembered that catching and treating the infection as soon as possible will always ensure the best results, as will using the remedy liberally for around one week – and don’t forget to continue treatment for at least one day after the cessation of symptoms for the best results.
